Kimchi Rice Cake Soup with Dumplings / 김치 떡만두국

Preparing for the Lunar New Year weekend by trying different tteokguk recipes! Enjoy this kimchi rice cake soup with sweet onions, mushrooms and red pepper flakes. The added bonus of dumplings and probiotics from the kimchi give this recipe a 10 out of 10!

Ingredients
5 Kimchi Dumplings
450 g Kimchi, chopped
130 g Onion, sliced
1 tsp Gochugaru (Korean Red Pepper Flakes)
½ tbsp Cooking Oil
½ tbsp Perilla Oil
800 ml Water
200 g Sliced Rice Cakes
1 tbsp Soy Sauce
5 g Dried Kelp
½ tbsp Oyster Sauce
½ tsp Sesame Oil
1 tbsp Green Plum Syrup
½ tbsp Fish Sauce
1 tsp Rice Vinegar
40 g Green Onion
Salt, to taste
2 Shiitake Mushroom

Garnish
Scallion, chopped
