Now kimchi and maple bacon take eating your mac and cheese to a whole new level.
Ingredients (Serving size: 4)
3 tbsp butter
2 cups milk
1.5 cups kimchi, sliced
3 cups macaroni
3 tbsp flour
salt & pepper
3 cups cheese (we used each cup of cheddar, parmesan and mozzarella)
Topping : maple bacon, mozzarella cheese
Garnish idea : parsley or chili pepper
*Preheat the oven to 360°F1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, cook macaroni according to box instructions. Strain and set aside. In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter and add kimchi on high heat. Cook until most of the liquid has reduced, about five minutes.
2. Reduce heat to medium-low and add flour, lightly coating the kimchi. While stirring, slowly add the milk into the pan, then put some salt and pepper to taste. And then, add 3cups your favorite cheeses, stir it until melted. Once this as thickened, add macaroni, stir it more.
3. Remove from heat, top with mozzarella cheese and maple bacon. Maple bacon gives much more flavor to this dish than just usual bacon!
4. Bake in the oven for 25minutes. Serve garnished with parsley flakes or chopped chili peppers (if you like spicy).
